Privacy Policy
Who we are:
We are Into The Mountain and our web address is https://www.intothemountain.co.uk. The project was produced and commissioned by Scottish Sculpture Workshop (SSW) from 2017 – March 2020, whose web address is http://www.ssw.org.uk. The project was also co-commissioned by Cairngorms National Park Authority, City Moves Dance Agency, Dance North Scotland and Tramway as well as having support from Mountaineering Scotland, Aberdeenshire Council and Creative Scotland.
From March 2020, lead artist and researcher on the project, Simone Kenyon, is the data controller for all data collected through Into The Mountain. Her web address is: http://www.simonekenyon.co.uk/about/ and she can be contacted via info@intothemountain.co.uk.
Why we collect data:
We process and store personal information on the basis of your consent and with the aims of sharing information about the project. The data we specifically use includes your name and email address and we use this to let you know about our programme and events related to Into The Mountain.
It is important to us that we retain the trust and confidence of everyone with whom we are in contact. By opting in, you are consenting to sharing your personal data with Simone Kenyon, the lead artist and researcher on this project, and until March 2020, the project's producer Scottish Sculpture Workshop (SSW). We will never sell or pass on your personal data and to use it only to keep you informed about Into The Mountain related programmes of projects, events and exhibitions.
What personal data do we collect:
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Newsletter form
If you sign up for our newsletter we retain users’ names and email addresses via a third party platform (Mailchimp) in order to send information to you. You are able to unsubscribe from this service at any point through each email sent by us. By signing up to our newsletter, you are also giving permission for your details, i.e. your name and email address, to be shared with the lead artist Simone Kenyon and until March 2020, the producer Scottish Sculpture Workshop (SSW).
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

How long we retain your data:
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data:
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. You have the autonomy and agency to opt-out of our mailing list(s) without contacting us by following the instructions embedded in the emails concerned and/or through your email account.
